Michael has established a distinguished career in the marketing, management and communications fields. He was instrumental in the international expansion of a leading Fortune 500 communications conglomerate, the development of advertising sales for a major worldwide pay television group, and a firm he founded to reorganize companies, manage marketing and communications activities and M&A opportunities.
He began his career in international business in 1977 in Caracas, Venezuela. For the next 18 years he served in top management positions with Foote, Cone & Belding, a leading multinational advertising agency, throughout South and Central America, Asia and the United States, opening offices, acquiring companies and managing turn-around situations. |
In early 1996 Michael left FCB to become President of HBO Latin America Advertising Services. He positioned and launched the HBO channels for advertising sales (Sony Entertainment Television, The Warner Channel, Mundo Olé, E! Entertainment Television, HBO and Cinemax Brazil) throughout the Latin American region.
Michael founded MCOM Corporation in 1998 at the request of clients who were searching for ways to increase their marketing and communications productivity, improve results from communications partners, find and develop equity partnerships, or divest themselves of underperforming assets.
A native of Indiana, Michael holds a B.A. degree from Purdue University, an M.A. from the University of Iowa, and an M.B.A. in International Management from Thunderbird. He has two grown daughters, is trilingual in English, Spanish and French, and his leisure interests include fishing, boat restoration and photography. |
